What Praxis Inc does
Mission
Praxis is a venture building ecosystem advancing redemptive entrepreneurship, supporting founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
On its FY2024 return the organization reported starting a significant new program and a significant change in how it conducts a program.
During the tax year, the organization expanded its program service areas due to increased demand for its services. The following changes are reflected in the current year's reporting: global venture building ecosystem renames the prior year's praxis ventures program. This rename reflects the significant expansion of the organization's ventures work to encompass a global network of entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners, including the launch of 2 new accelerator programs in africa & asia. Media, brand, and product (form 990, part iii, line 4c) is a newly designated program area corresponding to the formal launch of the organization's media arm, which became operational during the current tax year.
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).
The center for redemptive imagination, as it had previously been defined, was parsed out into both the summit & community program, as well as the media, brand, and product program. This has allowed for clearer delineation of the different aspects and teams of this area of work. Enduring organization has been discontinued as a standalone program. Activities previously reported under this designation have been absorbed into other program areas or reclassified as management and general (administrative) expenses, as appropriate.
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

(continued on schedule o)praxis also convenes regional gatherings that bring entrepreneurs, investors, and builders together for multi-day events of convening, relationship building, and imaginative stories, with recent gatherings serving the africa and asia pacific regions in nairobi and singapore. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $5.4M to $12M (+118%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 7% · 2022 0% · 2023 1%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
89% of PRAXIS INC’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (84% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 12 funders to 27 funders, grant income rose $1.3M → $5.0M.
20 of 52 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 58% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of PRAXIS INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 52 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
PRAXIS INC has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 33% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left
59% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund PRAXIS INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 35% · 2018 28% · 2019 51% · 2020 38% · 2021 44% · 2022 27% · 2023 45% — growing more concentrated.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
61% of PRAXIS INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 63% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
58% of PRAXIS INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $15M that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside New York, across 18 states.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $21M arriving through sponsors registered in 12 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
