Plinth is a charity and foundation intelligence database. For Canada it is built from the T3010 annual information returns registered charities file with the CRA, where 40,899 charities itemized 2,602,785 gifts and grants, C$95.1B in amounts as filed, across FY2017–2023, resolved into a multi-year funding network. It shows who funds any charity and every funder's grantees.

From the Canada Revenue Agency's List of Charities, published as open data on open.canada.ca: the T3010 annual information return every registered charity files, with the T1236 schedule of gifts to qualified donees, the T1441 schedule of grants to everyone else, the financial lines and the director roster. A charity's list of funders holds the gifts other charities' schedules named it on, so read it as a floor rather than a census. Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada.

40,899 charities itemized 2,602,785 gifts and grants, C$95.1B in amounts as filed, across FY2017–2023. Figures are amounts paid in the fiscal period as reported on the return, not grants approved or announced, and they are as reported by the organization rather than verified by the CRA.

Every fiscal year in FY2017–2023 is complete. The CRA publishes a T3010 once it has been processed, so the newest years are still filling and are shown as partial until they do. Every figure is dated to the fiscal period it was filed for.

Canadian dollars, exactly as filed. No exchange rate is applied anywhere and nothing is converted, so a Canadian total and a US total are never added together. Canadian amounts are shown as C$; plan prices are in US dollars.

Searching is free and needs no account. The grants API answers Canadian rows under jurisdiction=ca, and each response states the license and the currency the figures were filed in.
