01What it does

What The Kyle Pease Foundation Inc does

Mission

Create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. In 2024, the kyle pease foundation continued to grow and provide life changing events and opportunities for both athletes, their families, and volunteers alike. Our grants that we were able to give away in 2024 totalled over $85,000 to help purchase a wheelchair accessible van for garnet palmer, a powerdrive system for chase hutchins' manual wheelchair and bathroom remodel for cory morrow. With 46 events across 14 states in the united states of america. With exceeding our goals for attendance, we had 150 different kpf athletes with 54 of those being brand new to kpf. With those huge kpf athlete numbers we needed an even larger number of volunteers to get us through the entire event calendar, which saw over 420 volunteers with 242 being first time volunteers, which got us over the line of 1,200 finish lines.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 7 funders to 23 funders, grant income rose $212k → $638k.

22 of 75 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 88% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of THE KYLE PEASE FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 75 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

THE KYLE PEASE FOUNDATION INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 54% of grant income and the top three 75%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

92% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE KYLE PEASE FOUNDATION INC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. How long its funders stay

21% of THE KYLE PEASE FOUNDATION INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 44% give in more than one year at all.

Where its funders are

88% of THE KYLE PEASE FOUNDATION INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $624k that is directly attributable, 63% of it comes from Georgia funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $4.5M arriving through sponsors registered in 15 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
