What Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival does
Mission
Present the world's greatest musical artists in chamber music concerts of classical and alternative genres for diverse audiences. Offer music education to concert attendees, students, and aspiring young musicians.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
The festival has 12 to 14 concerts each year, featuring world class artists who perform in amelia island venues for the general public. The expenses for these concerts are paid with ticket sales, gernerous donations from our patrons, and the state of florida and u.s. Federal grants. We offer a variety of options for patrons who wish to attend concerts but are unable to afford the tickets. These include teachers from the region's schools, along with their families. These live concerts bring exceptional chamber music to north florida and southeast georgia communities' residents, visitors and tourists.
$6,674 spent2% of program spendingThe festival has long had an educational program as part of its mission. After the pandemic, the organization moved away from individual lessons for children and began a community chamber music program taught by our executive director. It brings together budding musicians of all ages (this year between 11 y.o. And 75 y.o.), to learn to play stringed instruments in a chamber music setting. The pilot program in 2022 proved very popular, and it will be continued in future years. The festival also offers free masterclass opportunities to local college students, as well as in-school performances at different nassau county schools. All expenses for these programs are included in artist fees or salaries.
The festival conducts a one week intensive program each june. Young musicians studying in colleges, universities and conservatories, preparing to be professional musicians, come to amelia island to work with our quartet in residence, 8 to 12 hours each day. The young musicians, along with the members of the quartet in residence, present a concert for the general public at the end of the week. And during the week the young musicians perform at local retirement homes for their residents who cannot attend concerts in person.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $511k to $707k (+38%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2024 8%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
72% of AMELIA ISLAND CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (64% for the typical peer).

6 of 24 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 18% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. How long its funders stay
43% of AMELIA ISLAND CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 71% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
AMELIA ISLAND CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL draws 65% of its grant income from funders outside Florida, across 9 states in all.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $112k arriving through sponsors registered in 6 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
