To advance the humane treatment of dogs and cats by providing comprehensive sheltering, medical care, and behavioral support. We strive to ensure every animal has the opportunity to find a permanent, loving home through community education and outreach.

Since 2006, caspca has consistently maintained a 90% or higher live release rate, demonstrating our commitment to positive outcomes for every healthy and treatable animal in our care. As the contracted public shelter for charlottesville and albemarle county, we offer a broad spectrum of services designed to reduce shelter intake and improve outcomes for pets and the people who care for them.
