As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
The fellowship programthrough a wide range of performance and instructional activities, the nws fellowship program seeks to provide time and space for emerging musician leaders to prepare for long and successful careers. This is accomplished with a curriculum that is structured into three experiential pillars: performance and musicianship, audience and community engagement, and leadership and entrepreneurship. Each year, more than 120 visiting artists and coaches work with nws fellows, offering master classes and private lessons as well as instruction in audition preparation, performance psychology, communications, and community engagement. In pursuit of artistic excellence, instrumental faculty work with fellows on technique, stylistic subtleties, orchestral section leadership, and ensemble skills; they help prepare performance repertoire, lead sectional rehearsals, coach within ensemble settings, and play alongside fellows in weekly rehearsals and performances. Fellows receive specialized training on how to connect with audience members in the concert hall and in the community. Nws's leadership and entrepreneurship curriculum prepares fellows to be confident, influential artists…

Nws blue projects (build, learn, understand, experiment) combine nws's leadership and entrepreneurship curriculum with hands-on experimentation, allowing all fellows and several alumni an opportunity to explore passion projects that are relevant to their goals as classical musicians while developing a comprehensive skill that complements their artistic and orchestral training. Each project is assigned a mentor who provides individualized professional development coaching relevant to the specific project. Over the course of the season, fellows develop plans in consultation with mentors concerning project elements such as selection of partners, artistic programming, audience identification, and securing a venue. Additionally, mentors and their teams receive assistance from specialists to ensure coverage of entrepreneurial topics such as design thinking, event production, budgeting, marketing, public relations, audience development, cover letters and resumes, and…

The 21st-century musician needs a set of non-music skills in addition to exceptional musical technique. Nws's community engagement programs are learning experiences for the fellows and for our partners in the south florida community, across the u.s., and internationally. The broad array of musical and educational offerings provides families, students, teachers, and adults of all ages opportunities to learn and to experience classical music. Nws's community engagement activities include the following: -community collaborations: throughout the season, nws fellows provide 30- to 60-minute interactive and thematic class presentations that allow students opportunities to develop their listening skills, gain knowledge of cultural history and make a personal connection to the art of music. Fellows also work with community partners to curate and present mobile wallcast concerts, a community-based concert series featuring a 23x13 led screen that includes archival nws concert footage and content created in conjunction with organizations and artists from local neighborhoods. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $257M to $277M (+8%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 38 funders to 60 funders, grant income rose $4.7M → $13M.
24 of 154 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 14% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of NEW WORLD SYMPHONY INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 154 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
NEW WORLD SYMPHONY INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 60% of grant income and the top three 70%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 72% · 2018 24% · 2019 48% · 2020 55% · 2021 47% · 2022 74% · 2023 70% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
50% of NEW WORLD SYMPHONY INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 60% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
92% of NEW WORLD SYMPHONY INC's grant income comes from Florida funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $9.9M arriving through sponsors registered in 13 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
