Program

  1. Since 1981, mercy care foundation (foundation), located in atlanta, ga, has served as the fund-raising arm of the saint joseph's health system. In recent years, the foundation's support has been directed toward two specific entities within saint joseph's health system: saint joseph's mercy care services (d/b/a mercy care services) and mercy senior care (d/b/a mercy care rome). The foundation raised over $1 million in fiscal year 2025 from individuals, corporations, private foundations and the federal and state government with assistance from dedicated volunteers and generous friends. These contributions help mercy care services and mercy care rome to meet the vast medical, dental and social service needs of the uninsured and underinsured community and to respond to the unmet needs of older persons in the community. 03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 12 funders to 23 funders, grant income rose $1.2M → $2.4M.

11 of 70 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 11% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Left out of every figure on this page: $8.2M from 11 payers (the payer shares this organization's board, largest Joseph B Whitehead Foundation). These are real filings, and they are not money MERCY CARE FOUNDATION INC raised.

From the IRS filings of MERCY CARE FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 70 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.9M arriving through sponsors registered in 9 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
