Mission

The ORGANIZATION exists to educate, uplift and empower women with cancer by providing women with opportunities to explore wellness and healing modalities while developing a sense of community with other women along the same path. We are driven by the understanding that the challenges women have to overcome on their cancer journeys are complex and multifaceted. With this in mind, programs are specifically designed to facilitate the healing of an individual as a whole: mind, body and spirit. All of our programs and services are free for women with cancer.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. THE ORGANIZATION'S signature programs are Overnight Wellness Retreats, 3-4 day journeys that transport women out of the everyday stress of coping with cancer into a peaceful environment where they are fully immersed in holistic lifestyle experiences. From special healthy menus to sessions focused on healing, every aspect of their stay IS PROVIDED with healthy and compassionate care. An array of retreat activities includes yoga, guided meditation, sound healing, art therapy, educational experiences and other important healing modalities. Day Retreats are one-day snapshots of our wellness retreats, and provide women with a day long experience focused on one aspect of healing, like heart healing, living a new normal, nutrition and more. Education is a critical part of cancer healing, and THE ORGANIZATION'S Educational Workshops focus on topics of critical importance to women with cancer, like reducing toxins, meditation, exercise and clean beauty. Sisterhood-Building Events help women organically connect with one another through shared experiences and form a bond of support to carry them through their journey. One-on-one support is also provided to THE ORGANIZATION including energy…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 3 funders to 8 funders, grant income rose $27k → $47k.

7 of 23 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 36% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of THE FOUNDATION FOR LIVING BEAUTY DBA LIVING BEAUTY CANCER FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

THE FOUNDATION FOR LIVING BEAUTY DBA LIVING BEAUTY CANCER FOUNDATION has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 25% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left

41% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE FOUNDATION FOR LIVING BEAUTY DBA LIVING BEAUTY CANCER FOUNDATION.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $176k arriving through sponsors registered in 7 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
