01What it does

What Daughters Against Alzheimer's Inc does

Mission

In support of the national institute on aging (nia) and national plan to address alzheimer's disease (napa), daughters against alzheimer's is honored to support the plan's ambitious goals to both prevent future cases of alzheimer's and to meet the needs of the millions of american families currently facing these diseases. With their strong commitment to research, daa is proud to support collaborative work among the world's premier doctors, scientists, and researchers at emory's goizueta alzheimer's disease research center. Our focus on early diagnostics relating to alzheimer's and dementia will easily screen and help facilitate effective treatment for asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic people before cognitive decline begins. By working together, we can change the trajectory of alzheimer's and dementia for the next generation.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. In 2024, daughters against alzheimer's (daa) continued to advance its mission to fund cutting-edge research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of alzheimer's disease. In addition to hosting our signature fundraising event, battle for the brain, daa expanded its year-round fundraising efforts through a series of ancillary initiatives. These included a mother's day raffle, a jewelry percentage event, and retail partnerships aimed at increasing both awareness and funds. We were also honored to be selected as one of the beneficiaries of the country club of roswell's pro-am charity tournament, and continued to benefit from corporate matching gifts. Daa launched a junior advisory board and committee to help cultivate the next generation of nonprofit leaders and ambassadors in the fight to #forgetalz. These collective efforts enabled daa to provide a $900,000 grant to our primary beneficiary, emory's goizueta alzheimer's disease research center. Financial support for the organization remained strong throughout the year, with significant contributions made in 2024 toward our 2025 fundraising goals. Our 2025 event has already exceeded expectations and further solidified daa's impact…

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 31 funders, grant income rose $1k → $312k.

16 of 50 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 48% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Daughters Against Alzheimer's Inc has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 18% of grant income, and it takes 5 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 5 funders to its left

62% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Daughters Against Alzheimer's Inc.

How long its funders stay

86% of Daughters Against Alzheimer's Inc's funders are still giving 2 years after their first grant; 60% give in more than one year at all.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $772k arriving through sponsors registered in 10 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
