Interns participate in project-based learning or work for 6 to 25 hours per week in gardening, outdoor play, placemaking, health promotion, photography, evaluation, or nonprofit management. The 2024 program involved 306 interns, paid by the nyc department of youth and community development or the nyc human resource administration. Outdoor leadership academy - kids is an after-school program and summer camp operating 5 days/week that aims to improve the health and fitness of elementary school children.
