What The Aska's Animals Foundation Inc does
Mission
Providing a progressive environment for animals through rehabilitation, education, and community outreach and filling the critical gap between shelter and permanent rescue.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Canine Behavior Program - Led by our canine behavior team, focuses on supporting dogs with behavioral challenges to improve their adoptability and overall quality of life. Through individualized behavior modification plans and training, we work with approximately 100 dogs in partner shelters per year, addressing issues ranging from fear and anxiety to agression. In addition to working with organizations, we assist individuals and their dogs, providing behavior support to prevent owner surrenders and help people live harmoniously with their pets. In 2023, we expanded our reach by creating an educational video library, accessible through our website, which provided critical behavior resources to over 500 people. These videos equip dog owners and foster caregivers with essential tools for managing and improving canine behavior. This year, we also enhanced our rehabilitation methods, enabling more dogs to successfully transition into adoptive homes or foster care.

The program ensures puppies receive essential care, socialization, and early behavioral training to prepare them for successful adoption into permanent homes. We focus on reducing stress during critical developmental stages, contributing to improved longerm welfare outcomes. This year, we have expanded our care capacity and refined our protocals to ensure each puppys health and well-being, with a strong emphasis on preventing behavioral issues before they arise.
$58,274 spent$225 earned by the program36% of program spendingAnimal Sanctuary - At Askas Animals, we operate an animal sanctuary that opens its doors to individual animals including pigs, goats, chickens, and horses, on a carefully considered case-by-case basis. Our sanctuary serves as a haven for these animals, offering a refuge from challenging circumstances and less-than-ideal living conditions. Many of the animals that become part of our program do so because their previous owners could no longer provide adequate care or they found themselves in less-than-ideal living situations. In 2023, we provided permanent sanctuary to 3 horses, 16 pigs, 3 goats, and a multitude of chickens.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $244k to $418k (+72%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

Who funds it, year by year
2021 → 2023: the base broadened from 4 funders to 12 funders, grant income rose $59k → $201k.
6 of 15 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 63% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of The Aska's Animals Foundation Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
The Aska's Animals Foundation Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 45% of grant income and the top three 76%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
71% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund The Aska's Animals Foundation Inc.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2021 67% · 2022 55% · 2023 40% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
63% of The Aska's Animals Foundation Inc's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $244k that is directly attributable, 91% of it comes from funders outside Idaho, across 8 states.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $424k arriving through sponsors registered in 6 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
