01What it does

What Meals of Hope Inc does

Mission

The mission of meals of hope is to inspire and empower communities to come together to end hunger. We believe it is our job to feed people. Meals of hope began as a food packing organization.continued on schedule owe are the only food packing organization with a priority on keeping the food packed within the united states. We have developed five meals specifically designed for the american palate and add vitamins, minerals and proteins to our meals in order to supplement an unbalanced diet.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

On its FY2025 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

In 2025, meals of hope launched a new program called agency resale. Through this program, meals of hope purchases food in bulk and stores it for partner agencies to access as needed. Local agencies can purchase items at cost and either pick them up at our mercantile location or have them delivered directly to their site. Agency resale helps ensure food pantries have consistent access to high-quality, affordable supplies as government and local funding continue to decline.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. Meals of hope takes a multi-pronged approach to ending hunger by feeding people through its mobile food pantries, meal packing events and out of school program. In 2025, we consistently served up to 3,500 families per week collectively through our 15 mobile food pantries in collier and lee counties; 40,000 of our volunteers packed more than 13.3 million fortified meals and donated them to local feeding america food banks across the u.s. For distribution, and provided over 81,000 packs of emergency weekend food to at-rick students in public schools in a three-county radius.

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 12 funders to 38 funders, grant income rose $656k → $899k.

12 of 91 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 40% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of MEALS OF HOPE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 91 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

MEALS OF HOPE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 30% of grant income and the top three 63%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

85% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund MEALS OF HOPE INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $4.3M arriving through sponsors registered in 11 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
