01What it does

What Gods Daily Word Ministries does

Mission

Ministry services of the sacerdotal functions required of an ordained minister through the internet and by written publications and through evangelism and education in Kenya, Africa as well as the sport - ultrarunning - community in the US. Education in Kenya includes a primary school with 370 kids and 29 staff.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2025 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

In the beginning of 2025, it became clear that much more effort would be required for the Africa portion of this ministry. As a result, it was determined to end the Sport portion of this ministry.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. God's Daily Word Ministries operates and financially supports a Christian school in Mathare, Nairobi, Kenya, providing education, daily meals, school supplies, teacher salaries, utilities, and facility expenses for approximately 370 students from preschool through Grade 9. The ministry also provides scholarships for approximately 45 secondary students, supports selected community assistance projects, and provides oversight and administration of all ministry activities through its Kenya operations.

  2. Daily devotional internet ministry. This portion of the ministry includes sending out daily devotional material through email as well as posting material on ministry web site and social media page. Ministry occurs through direct email communication initiated by recipients of the devotional material - most often through questions or requests for prayer. Expenses include direct expenses of web site and email services.

    $34,705 spent
    10% of program spending
  3. We really only maintain two main functions of the ministry. The first is related to the Africa school and the other is internet services. The only other program service would be the administration necessary for these functions. This expense is reflected in the other service project reports.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 3 funders to 10 funders, grant income rose $140k → $217k.

9 of 13 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 96% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is

GODS DAILY WORD MINISTRIES leans on a few funders — its largest provides 74% of grant income and the top three 88%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

96% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund GODS DAILY WORD MINISTRIES.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.5M arriving through sponsors registered in 7 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
