01What it does

What Frosted Faces Foundation Inc does

Mission

Rescue abandoned senior animals from shelters, providing them with necessary medical treatment and families for the rest of their lives.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Rescue - we provide free medical at fff veterinary clinic for adopters of the frosted faces throughout their lifetime. This incentive helps us to not only place pets with loving familiies without the financial burden, but allows us to move pets through our program in order to rescue more and aid our local shelters during this time of the overpopulation crisis.seniors for seniors program - aims to place frosted faces with people with 65+ years old and with the ability to care for an animal independently in their home and who would like the companionship of a senior animal. Our goal is to reduce or eliminate the common obstacles that prevent senior people from owning pets with the support of a volunteer. We match frosted faces and seniors based on a variety of factors, including the level of care that a frosted face may require and the amount of care that the adopter can provide.

  2. Frosted funding - we primariliy provide veterinary care that is required to maintain and enhance the quality of life for senior animals. We can also help with food, supplies, training, grooming, pet deposits, fence repairs, and impound fees. Our hope is that frosted funding will empower families to keep their pets instead of relinquishing them to the shelter or resorting to economical euthanasia. Additionally, we love to incentivize senior pet adoption!

  3. Safety net boarding - we offer free temporary boarding to pets whose parents require hospitalization or are experiencing hardships. We can offer up to 90 days of grace awarded in 30 day increments so that pet owners can pursue treatment or gather resources to gain stability, with the reassurance that their pet is okay and can be reunited. This also alleviates the burden of animal care on our open admission shelters.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 4 funders to 29 funders, grant income rose $18k → $373k.

15 of 71 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 67% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of FROSTED FACES FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 71 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

FROSTED FACES FOUNDATION INC has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 18% of grant income, and it takes 5 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 5 funders to its left

73% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund FROSTED FACES FOUNDATION INC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.2M arriving through sponsors registered in 11 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
