01What it does

What Fort Worth Cradle to Career does

Mission

To bring collaborative, systemic change for students in order to improve overall quality of life and to position tarrant county as a leading producer of high-quality talent.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. The postsecondary pathways department supports the t3 mission and the vision for the future of tarrant county students by providing holistic college and career advising/navigation to high school students. Our program pairs advisors with students who will walk alongside them to develop an informed plan for after high school (aligned to their strengths and interests) and execute their plan once they reach their senior year in high school. Our program also assists students with matriculation to our partner colleges/universities through a summer melt program. In addition to our student programming, our team also exists to partner closely with district and campusbased staff to provide thought partnership, coaching, and resources to support overall college and career readiness. To date, our department has supported five cohorts with matriculation at our partner colleges/universities totaling over 8,600 students and completion of over 7,000 postsecondary success plans.

  2. College and career success - the college success t3 continues to make a substantial difference in the lives of our t3 scholars as they progress to graduate with a degree or credential within the first six years after high school graduation. T3 now has five cohorts of t3 scholars and over 5,200 students across our eight higher education institutions. Eligible scholars continue to be supported by a first dollar scholarship, which assists in ensuring scholars are equipped and resourced to start each semester, and the last dollar scholarship covers the remaining balance in tuition costs for eligible students. In collaboration with bridge programs and persistence coaching at partner institutions, t3 has developed the acclimate. Persist. Thrive. Framework which delivers additional academic and social support to students working towards a degree or credential.

  3. The tarrant to & through (t3) partnership is an organization committed to increasing the number of students in tarrant county who pursue education beyond high school. Our goal is to ensure that each student has the training and skills they need to thrive in today's workforce. We believe that family encouragement and belief in their students' future helps them to choose the best path to success. The t3 family engagement program is here to support families along the way. For parents and families, t3 programs, resources, and support begin in middle school. If a parent/family member takes the t3 family pledge, the participant will gain access to the following resources: learn the steps necessary to choose and access pathways that lead to high wage, high demand jobs and receive personalized support from family engagement to advocate for student success.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base broadened from 6 funders to 11 funders, grant income fell $2.6M → $2.1M.

5 of 27 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 30% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of FORT WORTH CRADLE TO CAREER’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

FORT WORTH CRADLE TO CAREER leans on a few funders — its largest provides 31% of grant income and the top three 62%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

48% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund FORT WORTH CRADLE TO CAREER.

How long its funders stay

67% of FORT WORTH CRADLE TO CAREER's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 52% give in more than one year at all.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $4.0M arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
