What 247 Gateway LLC does

Mission

The gateway center works to end homelessness, and particularly chronic homelessness, by providing the support and framework people need to achieve self-sufficiency. Through therapeutic programs and services, gateway helps homeless individuals in metro atlanta move into transitional and permanent housing. The core mission of the gateway center is to provide a supportive and compassionate setting where individuals can receive the tools, programs, and services they need to end their homelessness.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2024 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Evolution Center is a low barrier shelter program designed to provide rapid access to safe shelter that is voluntary 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The goal of this program is providing shelter beds to those individuals who need it most (not limited to) with priority on those individuals that are most acute and have the highest needs.

  2. The Veterans Grant Per Diem (GPD) Program includes three housing models: Service Intensive Transitional Housing (SITH)-formerly the Veterans Transitional Housing Program (VTHP), Veterans Bridge to Housing and Veterans Low Demand. Service Intensive Transitional Housing (SITH) offers beds for up to two years and provides comprehensive, structured support for Veterans working toward stability. Veterans Bridge to Housing provides short term transitional housing for Veterans awaiting placement in permanent housing. Veterans Low Demand serves Veterans who may not be successful in traditional, highly structured programs and instead offers a low barrier, harm reduction approach. The GPD Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and requires referrals through Atlanta VA Health Care System. All guests receive case management and are connected to medical care, mental health and substance use services, benefits assistance, employment support, and housing resources.

    $0 spent
  3. This Bridge Response program is a collaboration with the City of Atlanta and provides temporary emergency shelter to individuals experiencing homelessness when designated encampments (often below bridges) are closed. Guests receive case management, housing navigation, and rapid rehousing support to ensure a quick transition to stable housing. The program ended 11/30/2024.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 5 funders to 21 funders, grant income rose $1.2M → $1.6M.

16 of 48 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 8% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of 247 GATEWAY LLC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 48 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

247 GATEWAY LLC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 43% of grant income and the top three 84%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

96% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund 247 GATEWAY LLC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.7M arriving through sponsors registered in 12 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
