What The Peer Power Foundation Inc does
Mission
Peer power foundation hires, trains, and deploys college students to be success coaches in economically disadvantaged high schools. (expanded mission on schedule o)these success coaches work primarily inside of english, math, and science classes alongside teachers to help students meet achievement benchmarks and their life goals. This model reduces the adult to student ratio from 1:30 to about 1:10, which helps meet the holistic needs of students and alleviate some of the pressure from teachers.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
Peer power foundation directly invests in mid-south high school and college students. It recruits, trains, and places college success coaches in the classroom for real time help when a student needs it. The coaches are placed in the math, science, and english classes where kids often struggle, become problematic and withdraw from learning and even drop out of school. Schools with peer power success coaches have 8-10% higher graduation rates. To be a success coach is to have a meaningful job which requires substantive expertise in math, science, and english. Additionally, it requires a mindset of service, humility and urgency. (continued on schedule o)we partner with the teachers, schools, and parents to mentor, model and motivate young and vulnerable children in socioeconomically challenged neighborhoods. The 75% of students we serve are in families at or below the federal poverty level. Since 2004, we have tutored more than 1,600,000 hours impacting 35,000 children. The success coach is often a first-generation college student. Peer power's training, and continuous learning and earning model produces outstanding results. Our success coach graduation rate is 84%, the national…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2017 to 2018, from $2.1M to $1.1M (−45%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 15% · 2021 6% · 2022 21% · 2023 21% · 2024 39% · 2025 52%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 10 funders, grant income rose $9k → $121k.
8 of 33 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 38% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of THE PEER POWER FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 33 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
THE PEER POWER FOUNDATION INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 34% of grant income and the top three 70%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
82% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE PEER POWER FOUNDATION INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 88% · 2018 33% · 2019 33% · 2020 35% · 2021 84% · 2022 29% · 2023 24% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
55% of THE PEER POWER FOUNDATION INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 42% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
80% of THE PEER POWER FOUNDATION INC's grant income comes from Tennessee funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.1M arriving through sponsors registered in 7 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
