What The Dinner Party Labs Co Npoc Services does
Mission
To transform some of our hardest conversations and most isolating experiences into sources of community support, candid conversation, and forward movement using the age old practices of gathering and breaking bread.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Trust Labs: We equip community with the tools to cultivate belonging and tend to all that gets in the way. Building largely on the tools and learnings from TDP, we help other organizations and networks cultivate deep, lateral relationships among peers and stronger communities of care, through a combination of trainings, tools and resource-sharing, and consulting services. In addition, we guides communities through moments of rupture whether borne of acute disagreement or from years to centuries of unaddressed harm. Through processes rooted in personal story-sharing, we equip and empower communities to interrupt the impulse to retreat into isolation or ideological and identity silos, and instead provide a framework for sustaining trust and connection across lines of difference.2023 Accomplishments: + Total # of people directly served: 8,142 + Partners included: The Archewell Foundation, School Crisis Recovery & Renewal project, Public Counsel, National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, Washington State Bar, the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario (Canada), Argonne, Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, Habitat for Humanity, NYC Office for the…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $280k to $506k (+81%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
58% of THE DINNER PARTY LABS CO NPOC SERVICES’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (81% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2021 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 14 funders, grant income rose $8k → $465k.
9 of 24 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 70% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of THE DINNER PARTY LABS CO NPOC SERVICES’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 23 of 24 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
THE DINNER PARTY LABS CO NPOC SERVICES has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 26% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left
72% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE DINNER PARTY LABS CO NPOC SERVICES.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2021 100% · 2022 62% · 2023 34% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
70% of THE DINNER PARTY LABS CO NPOC SERVICES's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $334k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Massachusetts, across 10 states.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $782k arriving through sponsors registered in 7 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
