What Restore Hope Ministries Inc does

Mission

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

  2. Hunger reduction: one in four children in tulsa county do not know when they will eat again. This is something restore hope is committed to change. Last year, restore hope ministries distributed 305,263 pounds of nutritious groceries to help 1,251 families fight hunger by putting food on the table for themselves and their families. We now have two full-time locations in tulsa for food pantries and have seen significant increases in the clients served at both.

  3. School supplies: restore hope helps hundreds of kids with the supplies needed for education each year. In this fiscal year, we helped 961 kids with items to help them succeed. Thanksgiving: we share the abundance of the harvest season each year with families feeling scarcity. This year we helped 2145 individuals with a thanksgiving basket. Advocacy: for years we have provided items to meet the basic needs of families in our community and yet the root causes that led to their need continued. We established advocacy as a program under our most recent strategic plan to help address those root causes.

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 6 funders to 14 funders, grant income rose $36k → $525k.

8 of 28 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 50% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of RESTORE HOPE MINISTRIES INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 27 of 28 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

RESTORE HOPE MINISTRIES INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 45% of grant income and the top three 76%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

72% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund RESTORE HOPE MINISTRIES INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $2.0M arriving through sponsors registered in 8 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
