Mental health america of dutchess county, inc. (mha) is a voluntary not for profit organization dedicated to the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental illness and the improved care and treatment of persons with mental illnesses. Mha envisions a just, humane and healthy community in which every individual is treated with dignity and respect and where comprehensive mental health services of the highest quality are available and accessible to all. Mha promotes mental well being and advances recovery from mental illness by providing a range of rehabilitation, supportive, case management, education, advocacy and drop in services for adults, children, youths and families.

Programs
Addiction services - services for recovery from substance use include the crisis center emergency care, counseling and referral services to dutchess county residents. Residential facilities include bolger house, florence manor and dowling house. These are halfway houses that provide temporary support after completing a detoxification program. Dowling house offers the opportunity to develop additional educational and vocational skills to facilitate reintegration into society. Sober supported housing provides permanent housing and assistance to the special needs of the homeless in recovery.
