Mission

Connect2Help facilitates connections between people who need human services and those who provide them. Individuals and families need to know where to call for assistance in times of difficulty. However, they are often unable to obtain available services quickly and easily due to a lack of knowledge and/or fragmentation of the service delivery system. The purpose of Connect2Help is to help people find their way to available services ranging from food banks to crisis assistance and everything in between.

As stated on its FY2019 Form 990.

Program

Connect2Help personnel, staffing their 24 hour/days, 7 days/week, 365 days/year 2-1-1 Call Center, answer rate this year was 81%. for all incoming calls. This fiscal year Connect2Help answered over 178,000 calls. Only 10% of all needs were considered unmet.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.

02Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2020: the base narrowed from 8 funders to 4 funders, grant income fell $1.5M → $369k.

6 of 12 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 9% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL NETWORK INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 82% of grant income and the top three 93%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

99% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund INFORMATION AND REFERRAL NETWORK INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $350k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
