Programs
On its FY2024 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.
In addition to continuing the same programs as described in the past, in october of 2024 we started a new 12 month program with unicef. It is to conduct hygiene and sanitation education in 5 communes in haiti and encourage citizens in at least 3,000 households to build and use a latrine that currently do not have one. In addition, we are to conduct that education in 16 schools. We began this project in earnest in november so as of december, 2024 we have few statistics of accomplishment yet.
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).
See schedule o.improving town water systems with management - in 2024, haiti outreach, along with its partner hanwash and northwater international, successfully completed the town of pignon's water system, the first one in haiti to function 24/7 with a pressurized system and use meters to determine how much people should pay per month and to moniter use. Because of various difficulties beyond our control due to the chaos in haiti, the next step to create solar power to generate the electricity to operate the pumps was delayed into 2025. Likewise, the drilling of a second well to provide additional water into the system was delayed until 2025. Also, haiti outreach continued to work, again with partners hanwash and northwater international, to improve the town water system in cavaillon, haiti and create a new one for the town of ferrier. The population affected in pignon is approximately 8,000 and about 25,000 in cavaillon and 15,000 in ferrier.

We have perfected a leadership program that moves leaders and citizens from being victims of their circumstances to taking responsbility for this lack in their communities and motivating them with providing training and coaching to do so. Our goal is sustainable development of these community water systems by the haitian people, be they rural wells or town water systems, so that the leaders in haiti will have the people and systems in place to do so, including the necessary financial ability to maintain them indefinitely. That is what this leadership program provides. We are continuously providing this leadership in the 4 communes of cavaillon, terre neuve, pignon and ferrier in haiti throughout 2024. These communes have a combined population of around 87,000 people. We prepared to conduct a combination leadership program and water system operator training in january of 2025 for 17 people from cavaillon.
See schedule o.community managed wells in rural communities - since haiti outreach began, we have worked with rural communities that do not have a potable water source to provide them with the leadership as described above and coached them to have a volunteer water management committee that we train on how to collect funds and safely manage them for use of the well and to fund future repairs. We worked in 7 rural communinties in 2024 to provde community managed wells as described. Their combined population is around 2,000 people.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2017 to 2018, from $593k to $434k (−27%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 5% · 2021 4%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
93% of HAITI OUTREACH INC’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (100% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 8 funders to 11 funders, grant income rose $133k → $247k.
9 of 31 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 38% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of HAITI OUTREACH INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 31 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
HAITI OUTREACH INC has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 34% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left
45% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HAITI OUTREACH INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 38% · 2018 60% · 2019 58% · 2020 34% · 2021 37% · 2022 20% · 2023 27% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
47% of HAITI OUTREACH INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 55% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
82% of HAITI OUTREACH INC's grant income comes from Minnesota funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $559k arriving through sponsors registered in 9 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
