What Courage to Caregivers Inc does
Mission
The mission of courage to caregivers is to empower and equip carers to navigate their journey. We envision a world where healthy carers lead to healthier families and communities. Working to prevent caregiver burnout through peer support, support groups, suicide prevention programming and breathing meditation.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
On its FY2025 return the organization reported starting a significant new program and a significant change in how it conducts a program.
Courage to caregivers undertook a new program in 2025. The program description is "question persuade refer/qpr suicide prevention is offered monthly and upon demand. Qpr includes 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in cpr and the heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in qpr learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.".
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).
Courage to caregivers ceased conducting the breathing meditation program. The program description previously was "breathing meditation classes are facilitated by a trained yoga instructor. Meditation allows you to better manage day-to-day and critical stressful situations. Utilizing proper breathing techniques is vital to the regulation of our stress levels.".
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).
The one-to-one caregiver support program connects caregivers with volunteers who have experience caring for someone else. The purpose of the program is to provide participants with support and resources so they are better able to take care of their loved ones. Volunteers are trained by courage to caregivers staff through a series of online webinars and monthly ongoing training opportunities.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $76k to $139k (+83%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2025 42%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
93% of COURAGE TO CAREGIVERS INC’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (82% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 7 funders, grant income rose $18k → $92k.
5 of 12 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 51% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of COURAGE TO CAREGIVERS INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
COURAGE TO CAREGIVERS INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 34% of grant income and the top three 66%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
51% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund COURAGE TO CAREGIVERS INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 72% · 2020 62% · 2021 99% · 2022 42% · 2023 29% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
50% of COURAGE TO CAREGIVERS INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 58% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
51% of COURAGE TO CAREGIVERS INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $148k that is directly attributable, 73% of it comes from Ohio funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $157k arriving through sponsors registered in 5 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
