What Bluepath Service Dogs Inc does

Program

  1. Bluepath service dogs, inc. Raises, trains and places service dogs in families with children with autism. Annually, bluepath participates in a number of community events, providing extensive education around autism spectrum disorders and service dogs, and garnering continued support for its mission. Bluepath's autism service dog program includes puppy raising, formal training and placement components. Volunteer puppy raisers devote their time and expertise to preparing labrador and golden retriever puppies to become well-adjusted service dogs. Beginning at eight weeks of age, puppies are taught basic obedience skills and appropriate home behavior. Raisers expose the eager pups to all the world has to offer, enabling them to develop a reference library of sights, sounds, and experiences needed to become well-trained service dogs. At approximately 18 months of age, bluepath dogs begin formal training during which time a professional instructor builds on the foundation the puppy raiser has instilled, teaching the dog increasingly advanced behaviors. Dogs acquire skills like "anchoring" (learning how to stop a child from wandering or bolting) and "visit" (providing grounding support…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 7 funders to 48 funders, grant income rose $132k → $539k.

14 of 85 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 51% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of BLUEPATH SERVICE DOGS INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 85 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

BLUEPATH SERVICE DOGS INC has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 21% of grant income, and it takes 4 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 4 funders to its left

52% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund BLUEPATH SERVICE DOGS INC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Where its funders are

51% of BLUEPATH SERVICE DOGS INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $1.7M that is directly attributable, 62% of it comes from funders outside New York, across 18 states.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.8M arriving through sponsors registered in 9 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
