01What it does

What Avodah the Jewish Service Corps Inc does

Mission

Avodah develops lifelong social justice leaders whose work is informed by jewish values and who inspire the jewish community to work toward a more just and equitable world.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Avodah is a national organization that has built a new generation of jewish leaders committed to social justice for over twenty-five years. Through our young adult programs -- the jewish service corps and justice fellowship -- we provide young jewish leaders with the tools, experience, knowledge, and networks they need to create a more just and equitable country. Avodah has a profound and lasting impact on our participants, both during our immersive programs and once they become part of our expansive national avodah alumni network of approximately 1,500 individuals. Through the 2022 launch of the avodah institute for social change, we've expanded our offerings by providing education, training, advising, and programming to mid-career and senior jewish leaders to deepen their institutions' commitment to social change.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $2.3M arriving through sponsors registered in 16 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
