Programs
A main focus of our nonprofit is to be a free resource online and print for education for patients and medical professionals. This includes hosting and coordinating efforts for International Autoinflammatory Awareness Month, Rare Disease Day, and research collaborations. We are also fundraising online to support for the 2026 3rd NIH Autoinflammatory and Immunedysregulatory Diseases Symposium, DLK evening reception. Plus a Task Force Working group to work on Clinical Trial Modular Outcome Measures to improve future treatment clinical trial design that is tailored to rare autoinflammatory and immunedysregulatory diseases to make a positive change for research and treatment for patients. Our costs for the hosting, plug-ins, domains, SSL certificates, managed hosting for 4 websites and subdomains, and materials in print, mailed to those in need at no cost, or to download online for free are a part of our operating budget yearly. Costs for autoinflammatory.org and the subdomains for our main site, that also includes downloadable information. We also have saidsupport.org, which is a leading source of information in a blog format based on covering common questions we get from patients and…

The Autoinflammatory Alliance has fundraised and worked with our scientific advisors, and also our patient community and families that have done fundraising to help determine the right programs to support for advancing care and research for systemic autoinflammatory diseases. In 2025, we were able to find the right program at the NIH NIAID Translational Autoinflammatory Research Institute Gift Fund to support research for the severe form of CAPS, including NOMID/CINCA and the new complications affecting some patients with all forms of CAPS globally that are experiencing amyloidosis induced by one of the few, or only medication to treat their form of CAPS-especially for NOMID patients that need this medication to get to the brain. The medication-induced amyloidosis is a new, and concerning issue that has been found to not only cause some lumps and tissue issues in the injection sites that can start to grow enormous in some cases, but a few are developing life limiting systemic medication induced amyloidosis. $18,000 was donated to the NIAID TARI gift fund in 2025 to directly support the research…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $136k to $48k (−64%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of AUTOINFLAMMATORY ALLIANCE INC’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (100% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 1 of the last 5 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $400 → $10k.
4 of 8 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 30% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of AUTOINFLAMMATORY ALLIANCE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
AUTOINFLAMMATORY ALLIANCE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 35% of grant income and the top three 75%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
65% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund AUTOINFLAMMATORY ALLIANCE INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 96% · 2019 100% · 2020 59% · 2021 87% · 2022 92% · 2023 84% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
50% of AUTOINFLAMMATORY ALLIANCE INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 63% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
AUTOINFLAMMATORY ALLIANCE INC draws 81% of its grant income from funders outside California, across 3 states in all.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $33k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
