01What it does

What Women's Board of Pittsburgh does

Mission

The Women's Board of Pittsburgh was formed to lend financial support to the many non-profit organizations involved with children in the pittsburgh area. Members of the Women's Board of Pittsburgh are committed to an annual benefit with the proceeds awarded to a different organization selected each year whose purpose is promoting the welfare and development of children.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. The Women's Board of Pittsburgh donates funds raised to organizations whose purpose is promoting the welfare and development of children. The funds this year were raised to support six organizations, of which two were funded during the fiscal year ended may 31, 2025: fox families care and grow pittsburgh. Fox families care provides resources for youth and families, including counselors, nurses, teachers, administrators and strategic community partners. Grow pittsburgh supports food-growing initiatives and programs as a key way of improving the social, economic, environment, health and educational realities of the community.

1 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $31 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
