01What it does

What Uganda Counseling and Support Services does

Mission

To provide water and provision as well as much needed medical care, educational and economic development to alleviate human suffering in uganda.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. In 2025, ucss drilled 7 new water wells, extended electricity to medical centers and schools, and completed major infrastructure improvements across the communities we serve. Each well delivers clean water every day and becomes a gathering point for bible study and community health outreach. In 2025, ucss's medical team treated 8,000 patients at our clinics, safely delivered 72 babies at nana health center, and reached an additional 2,370 people through community clinics and outreach. Another 6,000+ people were served through outreach programs, and 3,000 children were protected through our child protection initiatives. The infant mortality rate has dropped from roughly five deaths per month to near zero, and overall mortality is down by more than 85% since ucss began. In 2025, ucss's five schools enrolled 1,674 students, and 87% of our graduates are now pursuing higher education. Ucss's holistic sponsorship program provides tuition, meals, medical care, clean water, uniforms, and spiritual mentorship for each sponsored student. In 2025, ucss trained 228 leaders in community outreach and discipleship, and bible study groups continue to multiply around every well, school and clinic.…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 9 funders, grant income rose $2k → $218k.

10 of 11 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of UGANDA COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

UGANDA COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES leans on a few funders — its largest provides 33% of grant income and the top three 72%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund UGANDA COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 94% · 2020 69% · 2021 36% · 2022 59% · 2023 39% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. How long its funders stay

50% of UGANDA COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 73% give in more than one year at all.

first grant+1y+2y+3y

Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.

Where its funders are

100% of UGANDA COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $1k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Kentucky, across 1 state.

TX

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $790k arriving through sponsors registered in 9 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
