01What it does

What Twin Falls Optimist Youth House Inc does

Mission

Support young adults impacted by the foster care system and at risk youth by providing safe, stable and affordable housing as well as education ans support services as they transition to independent living.

As stated on its FY2026 Form 990.

Programs

  1. We represent an opportunity for a group of our youth to be successful in life as they trqansition to adulthood. While we recognize foster kids aging out of the state system at age 18 are not ready to make this transition successfully, that is what is happening. Aging out happens when a child in foster care turns the age of 18 without a safe and permanent home. They are deemed adults and are no longer under the purview of the child protection act. They often leave foster care with the rights to their parents having been terminated sometime during their childhood. They have spent a significant amount of their childhood in a foster home or group home without a home or family of their own. Often the only constant they have experienced is their life in their community.

Who funds it, year by year

2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 5 funders, grant income fell $86k → $42k.

1 of 11 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 13% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is

TWIN FALLS OPTIMIST YOUTH HOUSE INC has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 31% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left

65% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund TWIN FALLS OPTIMIST YOUTH HOUSE INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $36k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
