01What it does

What The Dominguez Dream in Memory of H Frank Dominguez does

Mission

To support and foster education and health, through the making of grants and distributions for charitable or educational purposes.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. The dominguez dream collaborates with elementary school principals and faculty, parents and community volunteers to provide literacy and steam programs to 5,400 students in 13 schools across 4 markets in california: sacramento, los angeles, san bernardino, fresno - and 1 school in arizona. We support schools with at least 60% of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. Through our programs, we touched the lives of over 155,000 students, families and school administrators and staff. Our inquiry based programs provide hands on learning of 21st century skills, building our students critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creative skills. For many students, our programs are the first and only opportunity to access steam enrichment and interface with professionals in the field who serve as a role models. We strive to bridge the educational achievement gap by providing a positive and lasting impact on students, parents, educators, schools and the surrounding community.

Who funds it, year by year

4 of 14 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 12% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $50k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
