What Love Inc of Eastern Carver County does
Mission
Love inc mobilizes churches and volunteers to respond to the needs of the community both transactionally and transformationally to improve lives of neighbors in need. We do this through identifying the needs of neighbors as they call in to our helpline.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
In 2024, our programs provided hope for 850 households by providing basic living essentials, on average, more than $450 for each household in a year. We mobilize 30 local churches by engaging more than 12,000 volunteer hours and other resources to identify and respond to basic human needs. We create visibility and strenghten relationships with other local agencies to provide a comprehensive care experience to vulnerable families during hardship. Stability that leads to independence is seen through our popular supply event, providing diapers, mattresses, and Thanksgiving meals during the holiday as well as other ministries.
$235,293 spent$134,770 earned by the program47% of program spendingIn 2024, we supported 99 individuals who needed are repair assistance. By partnering with a local mechanic, we vetted many applicants. Some vehicles were determined to be beyound repair. But a grant from Carver County, we were able to get 99 local residents who desperately need transportation to get to work, manage childcare, attend doctor's appointments, etc. back on the road safely. Transportation, when not reliable, can create significant instability to a household. Not all public transporation options meet our residents' needs. Stewarding this grant was a privilege to see how hopeful recipients were to keep pressing forward. Literally and figuratively.
$165,896 spent$200,000 earned by the program33% of program spendingIn 2024, our helpline is where it all begins by receiving nearly 3,000 calls/emails from local residents asking for help during hard times. Our services provide compassionate and patient assistance to provide basic living essentials and/or refer residents to other service agencies in the area. Trained staff and volunteers start a relationship with hurting residents. We listen to their stories, and we provide hope when hope runs out.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $52k to $104k (+101%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 7%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
69% of LOVE INC OF EASTERN CARVER COUNTY’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).

79% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LOVE INC OF EASTERN CARVER COUNTY.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 72% · 2018 94% · 2019 92% · 2020 60% · 2021 62% · 2022 55% · 2023 36% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. How long its funders stay
44% of LOVE INC OF EASTERN CARVER COUNTY's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 40% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $369k arriving through sponsors registered in 7 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
