01What it does

What Jungle Kids for Christ Inc does

Mission

The organization exists to empower children in the jungle of ecuador so that they can break the cycle of poverty and abuse through education and mentoring.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Antioch christian academy provides education to 240 students in 2024. It currently offers kindergarten through high school. Parents choose the school because it offers quality education, including english proficiency classes, a biblical world view, a safe and friendly environment, and a curriculum focused on developing critical thinking and problem solving. In a region where only 23% of children attend high school and 1% are able to reach college level education, the school stands as a place to empower children through education so that they may break the cycle of poverty and abuse. In 2023, a basketball club was created that provided training to 100 kids. The program functions during weekdays for 10 months during the year.

  2. The student resident home provides a safe and home-like place for girls who attend antioch christian academy but are unable to commute from and to school on a daily basis. In 2024, 8 girls recieved food, shelter, and medical care, tutoring, counseling and transportation to and from their home. In 2024 the residence hosted 8 girls. Parents send their daughters to the resident home because access to developed education in the deep jungle is not possible. Through this program, jungle kids for christ hopes to enable girls and their parents to gain opportunity and hope through education in school and residence.

  3. The farm is a 10 acre property where various self-sustainable projects will be developed such as planting tea trees and harvesting fish. These projects will progressively grow so that we can provide produce to the school and the student resident home as well as be an educational tool for the area.

The 3 programs described on its FY2024 Form 990, listed largest first by expense. Program spending in total: $800,201.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 4 funders, grant income rose $49 → $22k.

4 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 90% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of JUNGLE KIDS FOR CHRIST INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

JUNGLE KIDS FOR CHRIST INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 39% of grant income and the top three 90%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

90% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund JUNGLE KIDS FOR CHRIST INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 99% · 2022 97% · 2023 52% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

90% of JUNGLE KIDS FOR CHRIST INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $7k that is directly attributable, 71% of it comes from Georgia funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $64k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
