Program

  1. The organization focuses on three main areas listed below: fresh and healthy food access : the organization partners with a wide range of organizations to bring fresh and healthy food to hope village. It operates a weekly farmers market from june - september each year and partners with others to provide free fresh produce boxes to neighborhood residents. The organization is committed to growing and expanding its vibrant farmers market to serve as a hub of community connection, resources, and art/cultural expression. It is "more than a farmers market" - it provides fresh food preparation demonstrations, access to wide range of resources, including detroit at work's resume prep and job opportunity hub, snap food navigation, health care resources such as blood pressure checks, and information about a wide range of subsidies and opportunities for low-and moderate-income community members. The organization distributed over 9,000 and 19,000 pounds of fresh produce in partnership in partnership with eastern market in fiscal year 2025 and 2024 respectively. Farmers market vendors reported over 7,000 in sales, supporting local businesses. Sustainable, affordable housing: the organization…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2019 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 8 funders, grant income rose $120k → $572k.

1 of 16 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of HOPE VILLAGE REVITALIZATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

HOPE VILLAGE REVITALIZATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 40% of grant income and the top three 82%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

54% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HOPE VILLAGE REVITALIZATION.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How long its funders stay

40% of HOPE VILLAGE REVITALIZATION's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 38% give in more than one year at all.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $242 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
