We rescue, rehabilitate and find good homes for abandoned and abused animals. Our Mission Statement: Our primary goal is to remove dogs in danger of being euthanized from shelter environments and foster them until permanent homes are found through our adoption programs. We believe in the spay and neuter of all animals, regardless of breed, in order to aid in the prevention of pet overpopulation. We provide our dogs with shelter, proper veterinary care and any required rehabilitation. Our dogs come to us from a variety of different sources such as rescues from our city and county shelters and strays and pets who are neglected or abandoned due to bad economic times.Who We Are: Animals Rule Placement Foundation is a registered tax exempt 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Animal Welfare organization, Tax ID #13-4264510. Program
2025 Program Service Accomplishments:We found that 2025 was another year where dogs were shed from peoples lives for many and various reasons. Our rescue organization had no returns thanks to our screening process, but we did accept a record number of owner-surrendered dogs to help prevent the animals from re-entering the already overloaded shelter system. Once again, 2025 was a very interesting year to rescue and adopt animals. We found that there were still many people who had life changing experiences and found themselves needing to remove their dogs from their lives. Whether their dog was surrendered due to a move, a layoff, career change, straight-up financial difficulties or renter problems, our rescue organization stepped up to the plate. Our rescue intake and adoption numbers this year are still a little lower and slower than pre-Covid-19 times, but they have slowly been improving over the last five years. We feel that under the circumstances we did an outstanding job!We rescued a total of 65 animals in 2025, and we only lost 1 of those due to a critical medical condition. The breakdown of the 65 animals placed in 2025 is as follows; we saved a total of 11 dogs on their…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $271k to $566k (+109%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
94% of Animals Rule Placement Foundation’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (86% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 3 funders to 9 funders, grant income rose $6k → $69k.
2 of 12 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 3% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of Animals Rule Placement Foundation’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
Animals Rule Placement Foundation leans on a few funders — its largest provides 56% of grant income and the top three 93%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 42% · 2018 76% · 2019 90% · 2020 79% · 2021 84% · 2022 66% · 2023 46% — growing more concentrated.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
50% of Animals Rule Placement Foundation's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 50% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
99% of Animals Rule Placement Foundation's grant income comes from California funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $9k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
