What Vaccine Ambassadors does
Mission
Increase access to life-saving vaccines in low and middle-income countries. Increase access and uptake of vaccines in the us through advocacy and immunization support.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Vaccine Ambassadors collaborates with established public health organizations to strengthen immunization programs for children and families in low- and middle-income countries. Through the initiative facilitating equitable access to vaccines in the americas, the organization addresses gaps in vaccine coverage in latin america and the caribbean by supporting priority vaccines identified by regional public health experts and contributing to long-term health system resilience. This year, Vaccine Ambassadors released funds to support the procurement of routine childhood vaccines that protect against life-threatening diseases, with quantities and types approved in advance in coordination with public health partners. In addition, earlier this summer, 5,000 meningococcal vaccines for youth in trinidad and tobago arrived, expanding our vaccine portfolio to include this 14th type and further protecting children and adolescents from this life-threatening disease.

In the u.s., 75% of adults are missing one or more recommended vaccines, highlighting the critical need for programs that improve access.key initiatives include:1. Nc free and charitable clinics partnership (concluded): piloted in-clinic vaccination services for uninsured populations, helping individuals who otherwise had no options to receive this essential healthcare service. Through this initiative, 120 uninsured people received the tdap vaccine, and the pilot assessed how vaccination services could be integrated into clinic operations.2. Community immunity: 3rd annual in-home vaccinations pilot: increasing access for meals on wheels clients, most of whom are elderly with chronic health conditions, by delivering vaccines directly to their homes. This pilot protects a vulnerable population and provides a model for other meals on wheels programs to implement similar services.these projects demonstrate our ongoing commitment to public health, vaccine equity, and reducing barriers to essential immunizations, protecting both individuals and…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $105k to $67k (−36%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of VACCINE AMBASSADORS’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $45 → $27.
1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 4% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of VACCINE AMBASSADORS’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
VACCINE AMBASSADORS leans on a few funders — its largest provides 93% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 99% · 2022 73% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
VACCINE AMBASSADORS draws 100% of its grant income from funders outside North Carolina, across 2 states in all.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $116 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
