Programs
Youth development: our ymca is committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve by contributing to the 40 developmental assets of a child. That's why we help young people cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement. Our ymca programs, such as childcare, day camp, youth sports, instructional sports and swim, and swim team programs, offer a range of experiences that enrich cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth. Our commitment includes subsidies and direct financial assistance that make participation possible for up to 30 percent of the young people we engage in day camp and 90 percent in chldcare.

We bring families and communities closer together, encourage good health, and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun, and health education. As a result, hundreds of people in our community are receiving the support, guidance, and resources to achieve greater health in spirit, mind, and body. This is particularly important as our nation struggles with an obesity crisis and related chronic illnesses. Families struggle with work/life balance, and individuals search for personal fulfillment, yet at the ymca they find a healthy and safe outlet. Our responsibility to healthy living is evidenced by the free community programs we conduct, including health workshops, healthy kids day, free blood pressure and health programs such as group exercise and aquatic offerings, fitness training, and senior exercise have provided outlets for healthy living.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. For those in need. Our social responsibility extends beyond service to our membership. Our building is home to a church, serves as a community meeting place, and is and active center for boy and girl scouts programming. We work collaboratively with local government entities and social service agencies to address community needs including drowning/water safety, food insecurity, homelessness, and childcare voids. We bridge gaps, overcome obstacles, through our work. The y maintains a weekly food distribution and assists those in need with snap applications. Young staff, college interns, and youth volunteers are also trained, molded and developed to be socially aware and responsible. This is demonstrated as we invest our time and energy into accommodating college interns, youth work study programs, scouting award projects, and counselor in training programs.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

83% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund RARITAN VALLEY YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION A NJ NON PROFIT CORPORATION.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 56% · 2018 56% · 2019 44% · 2020 88% · 2021 39% · 2022 77% · 2023 56% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. In-state vs out-of-state, by year
