01What it does

What Polk No Kill Coalition Inc does

Mission

Charity assists the residents of Polk County, Florida to humanely trap, sterilize, vaccinate and return unowned, at large community cats to original location. Also assists in placing adoptable cats with rescue, providing medical care to community cats and reuniting lost cats.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. Organization founded in 2019 to assist unowned cats who, prior to this, faced a certain death due to the out dated and cruel policiy of Polk Count Animal Conntrol to euthanize cats. To date, Charity has vetted 5,012 animals. Vetting unowned animals humanely reduces the population and thwarts many undesirable behavior of intact breeding cats. Charity acts as an advocate to educate the public to effect change within the county towards county policy with regard to community cats and is the voice for the voiceless.

2 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 55% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Polk No Kill Coalition Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Polk No Kill Coalition Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 54% of grant income and the top three 93%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Polk No Kill Coalition Inc.
