What Oklahoma Bar Foundation does
Mission
The Oklahoma Bar Foundation provides annual funding through grants to promote the advancement of justice, to provide critical civil legal services to those in need, and to increase public awareness and understanding of the american legal system.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Obf legal services grants. The obf provides annual grant funds to non-profit organizations in oklahoma that furnish civil legal aid and advocacy services to oklahomans who would otherwise not be able to afford these critical services. This funding seeks to ensure that justice is possible for all oklahoma children, seniors, veterans, victims of domestic violence and other individuals who are in need of such services. Annual grants are also awarded to non-profits that provide law-related education programs to oklahomans, including students from grade school through high school. In 2024, the obf awarded grants to 54 separate organizations to provide civil legal aid services and law related education programs to oklahoma citizens. It is estimated that some 100,000 individuals/families received law-related services.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $17M to $26M (+53%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 3% · 2021 1%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
90% of OKLAHOMA BAR FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (93% for the typical peer).
