  1. Over the course of the 2024-2025, minn-iowa christian broadcasting, inc., doing business as kinship radio, saw some significant changes. Kinship radio's director of development left kinship so all of the responsbilities that were recorded on last years 990 were moved back to other staff. The full and half day sponsorships are now recorded by our announcers. We also added kjlw, kjca and kjrx stations to the kinship radio network. Our kjlw license was effective 10-17-24, kjca license was effective 12-27-24 and our kjrx license was effective 1-16-25. Other areas of growth and impact included: a successful women's event in mankato with over 750 attendees. Community connections in various kinship radio broadcast areas were made through area "ambassador" volunteer groups to build these relationships. Preparations for the second spearhead summit men's conference also began in earnest and will be hosted by kinship radio on september 20, 2025 at hosanna church in mankato. Kinship radio conducted a second fundraiser for six new stations granted by the fcc as acquisition of equipment and construction was continue by the organizations chief engineer. 03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2018 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $2k → $28k.

5 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 95% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Left out of every figure on this page: $2.0M from one payer (the payer shares this organization's board, largest Minn-Iowa Christian Broadcasting Foundation); $210k from one payer (the same organization on both sides, largest Minn-Iowa Christian Broadcasting Inc). These are real filings, and they are not money MINN-IOWA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING INC raised.

From the IRS filings of MINN-IOWA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

MINN-IOWA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 52% of grant income and the top three 89%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund MINN-IOWA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING INC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

95% of MINN-IOWA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $6k that is directly attributable, 98% of it comes from Minnesota funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $121k arriving through sponsors registered in 5 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
