01What it does

What Maker Park Radio Incorporated does

Mission

Community Arts Organization. Nonprofit free community radio station that provides a free outlet for all community members to amplify arts and culture through music and storytelling. We provide free workshops in audio and video software and hardware tools and broadcasting and interview skills. We care for Maker Park which is a small area of reclaimed land that is used as a community arts space, where we produce many live music events in partnership with our community.

As stated on its FY2026 Form 990.

Programs

  1. A three month long program called Sound & Vision which worked with two groups of individuals at different stages of their artistic development to collaborate together in a performance. This used audio and video art that was worked on as a group as the foundation, and when played live was used as a collaborative and improvisational tool to create a new work. It was live and interactive and audiences could participate by either walking around it and listening, or playing different instruments to add to the whole. It encouraged artists who can be isolated while learning about and producing electronic or video work to expand their networks, and get more comfortable in the collaborative space.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2018 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 5 funders, grant income rose $500 → $53k.

2 of 9 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 3% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of MAKER PARK RADIO INCORPORATED’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

MAKER PARK RADIO INCORPORATED has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 29% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left

30% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund MAKER PARK RADIO INCORPORATED.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. How long its funders stay

25% of MAKER PARK RADIO INCORPORATED's funders are still giving 2 years after their first grant; 56% give in more than one year at all.

Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $6k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
