01What it does

What Innovations for Gospel Impact Inc does

Mission

Igi provides a sustained message of jesus christ while solving real world problems with an innovative approach. We find, fuel, and fund leaders to innovate and scale gospel impact. Igi originated as a program of boost others, a 501(c)(3) organization formed to reach out to the indigent and needy meeting both spiritual and physical needs. A new entity for igi was formed in 2022 as a wholly controlled subsidiary of boost others and subsequently spun off as a separate, independent, entity on 1/1/24.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. Partner with established and newly formed entities and entrepreneurs engaged in spreading the gospel, discipleship, and meeting the needs of the underserved. Communities served include children, families living in extreme poverty, women and girls exploited by sex trafficking and individuals otherwise impoverished and neglected. The entity employs a strategy to identify organizations which are effective in serving these communities, assisting them with business and strategic direction, and funding where appropriate.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $125k → $25k.

3 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 91% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Left out of every figure on this page: $71k from one payer (the payer shares this organization's board, largest Boost Others Inc). These are real filings, and they are not money INNOVATIONS FOR GOSPEL IMPACT INC raised.

From the IRS filings of INNOVATIONS FOR GOSPEL IMPACT INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

INNOVATIONS FOR GOSPEL IMPACT INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 64% of grant income and the top three 91%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

91% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund INNOVATIONS FOR GOSPEL IMPACT INC.

Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

91% of INNOVATIONS FOR GOSPEL IMPACT INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $220k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Virginia, across 1 state.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $2.1M arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
