01What it does

What Hope Haven Farm Sanctuary does

Mission

To rescue neglected pigs, goats, sheep, llama, donkey, alpaca, emu and all farm birds. These animals have been surrendered at local animal shelters, confiscated by local humane agents and police, or saved from factory farms. They now live out their lives with comfortable housing, nutritious food, and companionship with others of their own kind. They also receive endless love and affection from the human components of the sanctuary.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. To provide food, water, shelter and veterinary care to any pig, sheep, goat or poultry that were abused, neglected, injured, sick, slaughter bound or when owners can no longer care for them; to provide these animals with a safe and loving environment in which to live the rest of their lives; to educate the public on the sentient nature of all animals and their right to live their lives free of fear and suffering.

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 7 funders, grant income rose $12k → $64k.

5 of 18 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 16% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
