What Global Dignity Inc does

Mission

To unite and empower everyone in creating a life of dignity for all.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Dignity in society - the organization hosted several all-hands meetings with over 50+ volunteer country chairs. Presentations highlighted the various local programs being hosted around the world, centered on global dignity's curriculum and how dignity shows up in the world, which varies accordingly from region to region. In some regions, truancy projects take center stage, while "anti-bullying and other dignity themes around tolerance and anti-hate are more part of the discussions in other regions. As part of global dignity's 20th anniversary celebration in 2025, pekka himanen and john osborn delivered a keynote presentation focused on dignity in society as part of the mongolia economic forum hosted in july in mongolia. Additionally, john participated as a panelist at a cornell club dinner in new york, exploring values-based leadership in society and cross-sector collaboration for a more compassionate world. Smaller-scale dignity sessions were hosted in london and other regions.

  2. Dignity in schools - october '25 was dignity month. Local celebrations were hosted around the world during the month, mostly in coordination with local schools and educational organizations. Coinciding social posts highlighted the work underway and recruited volunteers to engage in the global dignity community. Supporting materials included videos and google/meta posts socializing select posts from the honorary board and other stakeholders. Given much of the organization's mission is focused on "story-telling," a project was initiated to organize existing photography assets and materials into a social marketing library for easier and more turn-key support in the future. In collaboration with whole school leadership, cindy godwin and john osborn presented at a wsl conference in columbia, maryland. The team also visited numerous schools in wales to introduce students to dignity concepts. The connection to schools remains an important area of focus for global dignity.

  3. Dignity in the workplace - a recruitment effort was launched to identify corporations to test pilot dignity in the workplace, which focuses on building business cultures rooted in shared understanding of dignity principles, with alixpartners (global strategic consulting firm) supporting the work in the us and uk markets. Other corporations are also being identified through local outreach. The "dignity diagnostics" tool was further developed to screen and match possible "ambassadors" who will carry forth the global dignity tenets in the context of the corporate environment. Alix partners has also graciously agreed to further develop an online training module and platform based on modern training techniques. Alixpartners also selected globaldignity to be one of their official charity partners through "alixgives", providing opportunities for employees to donate to the mission. The organization also introduced the dignity ambassador program, inviting leaders from education, corporate, and nonprofit sectors to champion dignity principles within their communities. Interactive sessions were held in madrid, and the organization hosted the event "opening doors with dignity: young people,…

  4. Dignity in the environment - the organization established a fourth strategic area of focus: dignity in the environment, with stories of how respect for nature and the environment benefits people and communities. A key milestone was the creation of an informational flyer outlining global dignity's work and practical ways individuals can contribute to preserving the planet. This initiative reflects the organization's growing focus on the intersection of environmental health and human dignity, with plans to expand outreach and engagement in 2026.throughout the year, social media was used extensively to amplify "dignity in the environment" stories from global country chairs and share the organization's impact.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2019 → 2023: the base narrowed from 3 funders to 2 funders, grant income fell $13k → $10k.

3 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 84% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of GLOBAL DIGNITY INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

GLOBAL DIGNITY INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 63% of grant income and the top three 94%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

84% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund GLOBAL DIGNITY INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 57% · 2020 78% · 2021 57% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — growing more concentrated.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

84% of GLOBAL DIGNITY INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $31k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Connecticut, across 3 states.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $164k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
