Programs
Community free mealsFamily Kitchen is a community free meal program in bend, oregon. We serve either a lunch or a dinner daily (both on friday) and also one meal weekly in sisters, oregon. In december 2023, we served 6,087 free meals to community members. Family Kitchen's small staff is supported by over 450 volunteers who contribute their time each month to prepare meals, do dishes, shop for food and supplies, and deliver and serve meals to diners. Our diners are of all ages and stages: some living on a fixed income, some marginally employed, some unemployed, some housed, some houseless. Anyone who comes to our door is offered nutritious meals, no questions asked. In addition to serving meals at our bend location, our fresh to-go meals are delivered each week to housing for low income and disabled people, camps for the houseless, and various other community partners.
