01What it does

What Bpn Foundation USA does

Mission

The bpn foundation - usa has served more than 25 years as a publicly supported charity committed to helping national entrepreneurs in poor and developing countries establish businesses operated by biblical principles that provide jobs, supply needed goods and services to their communities, support local churches, and demonstrate ethical practices. In regions where malnutrition and starvation are prevalent, this helps farmers produce more nourishing crops that are available on local or international markets. In regions where unemployment and poverty are prevalent, this enables men and women to get a job that keeps their families together, provides the means for children to go to school, and makes medical services affordable. In regions where corruption suppresses the hope and well-being of citizens this provides both an example of ethical business and an advocacy for just practices.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Major grants were made to new hope farm in el salvador for the continued program of helping national farmers grow abundant, healthy, marketable fruits. The trees are enormous now, marketing is the main challenge. The program will close within the next year.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 3 funders, grant income rose $15k → $196k.

3 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 65% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of BPN FOUNDATION USA’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

BPN FOUNDATION USA leans on a few funders — its largest provides 31% of grant income and the top three 88%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

97% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund BPN FOUNDATION USA.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

65% of BPN FOUNDATION USA's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $151k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Florida, across 2 states.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $282k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
