What Blessman International Inc does

Mission

Blessman international, inc. Exists to help meet the physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people of south africa, with special attention to children, by providing nutritional support, housing, skills training, pastoral training, and basic necessities.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Blessman international executes its mission by raising funds and making regular contributions to blessman international, south africa (blessman sa), a south african not-for-profit organization. Funding from blessman in 2025 provided for the construction of 23 new toilet units at rural schools and child development centers. The sports complex continued to provide a gospel-centered atmosphere of friendly sports competition in soccer and netball. Blessman distributed 3,284 reusable hygiene kits to girls, 726 pairs of shoes, and 604 pairs of eyeglasses to south african children. The celebrate recovery program continues to grow, and we currently have 250+ young adults attending weekly meetings to combat addictions, mental health, hurts, and hangups. We continue to drill wells to supply needed drinking water and have drilled an additional 30 wells in 2025. These wells include water meters to record the amount of water supplied. We continue the child sponsorship program (one child at a time) where sponsors from the us can sponsor a child for $44/month or $528/year to provide food, education assistance, and spiritual formation. Currently, 87 children are sponsored. We anticipate growth in…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 4 funders to 11 funders, grant income rose $77k → $206k.

9 of 22 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 66% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of BLESSMAN INTERNATIONAL INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

BLESSMAN INTERNATIONAL INC has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 28% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left

66% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund BLESSMAN INTERNATIONAL INC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. How long its funders stay

75% of BLESSMAN INTERNATIONAL INC's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 73% give in more than one year at all.

Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.

Where its funders are

66% of BLESSMAN INTERNATIONAL INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $339k that is directly attributable, 95% of it comes from Iowa funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $662k arriving through sponsors registered in 9 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
