As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Program
Appalachian community capital development fund (accdf) expands access to capital by providing capital and financing solutions to community development financial institutions (cdfis) serving appalachia and other underserved communities. Through its network of 44 member cdfis with more than $4.5 billion in combined assets across 13 states, accdf strengthens local capacity to finance small businesses, affordable housing, community facilities, and other place-led economic development. Since launching its lending program in 2015, accdf has raised approximately $64 million and deployed approximately $59 million in loans to member cdfis. In 2025, the program raised $35,000,000 in funds, deploying approximately $49,325,000 resulting in grant income recognized of the same amount.beyond direct lending, accdf develops the capital infrastructure needed to expand community investment across the region. Through opportunity appalachia, the organization has supported 86 projects in 28 communities that have attracted more than $165 million in financing since 2020 for rural downtown redevelopment, housing, manufacturing, clean energy, food systems, healthcare, and other community priorities. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $274k to $18M (+6598%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of APPALACHIAN COMMUNITY CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (80% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2021: the base held at 2 funders, grant income rose $200k → $400k.
2 of 15 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 3% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is
APPALACHIAN COMMUNITY CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 88% of grant income and the top three 95%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 50% · 2021 63% — growing more concentrated.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
APPALACHIAN COMMUNITY CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION draws 100% of its grant income from funders outside Virginia, across 6 states in all.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $800k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
