Funders to approach for Animal Humane Association of New Mexico Inc
Line 4a - first accomplishment we operate a 25,000 square-foot thrift shop, located at 5341 menaul blvd. Ne, which is filled with gently used and New items generously donated by our community. The vast offerings, which include clothing, furniture, household goods, antiques and collectibles, give pet lovers a unique avenue to support our lifesaving work through shopping and/or donating. Proceeds from thrift shop sales fund essential services such as medical treatment, foster care, and adoption programs. In addition to its financial contribution, the thrift shop advances our organization's commitment to sustainability by encouraging the reuse and recycling of donated goods. Through community donations and purchases, the shop diverts thousands of items from landfills each year, promoting both environmental responsibility and animal welfare. Our thrift shop serves as a vital revenue source that directly supports our mission to improve the lives of pets in need. Line 4b - second accomplishment animal care is responsible for the daily husbandry, intake processing, and care of our shelter animals. In 2025, they administered 7,401 vaccines and 19,610 individual medications ordered by the veterinarians. Our behavior team and modification program helps animals who are experiencing fear, anxiety, or stress in the shelter setting by creating individualized rehabilitation plans. Our trained specialists work with shelter pets and are also available to all pet owners who are experiencing behavior concerns with their dogs or cats. Our behavior team provides recommendations on many common issues from housetraining to managing multiple pets in owners homes through our free behavior helpline. Our foster care program is a tremendous safety net for the vulnerable pets in our care. During 2025, 653 unduplicated pets were fostered by devoted caregivers with these same pets cared for in homes on 855 instances. Through the exquisite gifts of time, patience and nurturing, our foster caregivers provide a haven for our homeless pets to grow and recover before starting New lives with their adopters. Line 4c - third accomplishment donor-subsidized veterinary clinic: animal humane's donor-subsidized veterinary clinic, located on our 4-acre main campus, plays a critical role in ensuring pets stay healthy and with their families. As New Mexico's only full-service low-cost veterinary clinic exclusively serving qualifying low-income pet owners, we provide much needed care for those who cannot afford to take their pets to private veterinary practices. Animal humane's mission to provide access to quality veterinary care is a crucial link to having owners and their pets living happy, healthy lives together. Renovated in october 2007, with funding from private donors and foundations, animal humane's clinic also provides quality medical care for the thousands of homeless pets that we shelter annually, many of whom require spay/neuter in addition to medical procedures ranging from diagnostics to dentistry to orthopedic surgery. In fy 2025, our expert medical team conducted 2,899 appointments, 359 spay/neuter procedures and 248 special surgeries for pets owned by low-income owners. Every pet adopted from animal humane receives quality medical care at our donor- subsidized veterinary clinic and 1,552 cats and dogs were sterilized prior to adoption. Additionally, medical procedures/treatments (e.g., laceration repairs, mass removals, ringworm/parvovirus/parasite treatment) needed to ready pets for adoption are performed. Our trap/neuter/return (tnr) program sterilized 266 free-roaming community cats in 2025. These community felines are humanely trapped, medically evaluated, vaccinated and sterilized by our veterinarians, then returned to their original location. Animal humane endorses tnr as the only proven humane and effective method to manage community cat…
