01What it does

What Yogi Squad does

Mission

Stress and anxiety are rising among students, impacting their well-being and ability to learn. Yogi Squad addresses this by equipping kids with mindfulness, movement, and literacy-inspired tools to manage stress, build resilience, and develop self-awareness. Through school partnerships, community outreach, and digital resources, we ensure that mindfulness education is accessible to all. Serving over 17,000 students in 2025 through 929 classes, we collaborate with schools and organizations like Rainwater Charitable Foundation, Texas Health Community Hope, Fort Worth Bontanic Gardens, Near Southside Inc. and Funkytown Mindful Market to provide free wellness programs across Fort Worth. Our vision is to integrate mindfulness into everyday learning, fostering emotional well-being and positive mental health. Looking ahead, we aim to expand our reach through the Mindful Mobile, a wellness studio on wheels, bringing mindfulness and yoga directly to underserved communities.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Mindful Classrooms, Connected Communities is a mindfulness and literacy enrichment program serving more than 2,500 students and educators across Tarrant County each month. Supported by local foundations and community partners, the program delivers short, high-impact lessons that help students build a shared language around mindfulness while practicing simple breathing, movement, and self-regulation tools that support focus, calm, and emotional awareness. What began as a single pilot campus in 2024 has grown to five Title I campuses across Fort Worth ISD and Arlington ISD. Due to its strong outcomes and enthusiastic response from schools, the program is set to expand further in the 2026-2027 school year.

  2. The School Squad Grant Program is transforming local schools by providing free, high-quality mindfulness education that empowers students to manage emotions, navigate challenges, and build self-awareness. In 2025, we impacted over 9,320 students across Title 1 campuses throughout Tarrant County, equipping them with research-based tools to foster positive mental health habits. Through engaging lessons, students learn how their brains react to stress and gain practical strategies to regulate emotions and make thoughtful choices. By making mindfulness education accessible to all, Yogi Squad is creating a lasting impact-helping students develop resilience, self-control, and emotional well-being that extends far beyond the classroom.

This initiative ensures that cost is never a barrier, providing affordable, in-person yoga sessions and online mindfulness resources each week. In 2025, we served 9+ families weekly and provided 35+ hours of after-school mindfulness lessons at a local park, equipping participants with tools to manage stress and build resilience. By making wellness practices accessible, we are strengthening families and communities. Support for this program directly sustains vital mindfulness education for those who need it most.

2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 69% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of YOGI SQUAD’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

YOGI SQUAD leans on a few funders — its largest provides 63% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

69% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund YOGI SQUAD.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 92% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

69% of YOGI SQUAD's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $3k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Texas funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $5k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
