To prevent language extinction, wikitongues fights for every language to be celebrated, respected, and institutionally supported. We invest in language activists, accelerate endangered language revitalization, and defend multilingualism worldwide.

Programs
Language revitalization - wikitongues provides grants, training, and volunteer support to the leaders of new and early-stage language revitalization projects, with tactics ranging from childhood education to mother-tongue technology. In 2024, we supported 10 language revitalization leaders, representing eight countries and 10 unique languages. In parallel, we maintain free language resources at wikitongues.org, including a downloadable language revitalization toolkit and linguistic documentation. In 2024, we archived 40 audio/video samples, representing 31 unique languages from 20 unique countries.
